The Ann Arbor T-shirt Company was founded from a dorm room project between two friends at the University of Michigan. Today, the brand proudly designs, prints, and embroiders the majority of its products completely in its Ann Arbor, MI factory.
This unisex fleece shirt is a classic fit with a drop-shoulder construction, offering a roomier shoulder area. While the pre-shrunk fabric may still shrink slightly in the wash due to the high cotton content (80% US cotton, 20% polyester), most people find they can wear the same size as their other shirts.
The 7.5oz fabric makes this a suitable choice for workouts, spring/fall, and indoor wear during the winter, without being overly heavy. The soft, durable finish is achieved through the use of 80% ringspun (soft) cotton and 20% polyester.
The screen-printed design was drawn and silk-screened with pride by the skilled illustrators and printers at the Ann Arbor facility. Customers are welcome to stop by for a free tour to see the apparel-making process firsthand.
The printing inks used are high-quality, vibrant, and durable QCM inks, manufactured in Pineville, North Carolina. These inks are also highly crack-resistant, thanks to the top-of-the-line printing presses and ovens (for proper curing) made by M&R in Roselle, Illinois.
Importantly, the QCM inks are phthalate-free, CFC-free, and rated as carcinogen-free by the state of California, ensuring a safe manufacturing process. This commitment to responsible chemistry places QCM among the most forward-thinking ink manufacturers in the industry.
